This action took place on April 9th, 1978. Near the city of Zvenigorod (in the vicinity of Moscow), a large stretch of navy blue cloth was hung above a river. The banner read: "I WONDER WHY I LIED TO MYSELF THAT I HAD NEVER BEEN HERE AND WAS TOTALLY IGNORANT OF THIS PLACE – IN FACT, IT’S JUST LIKE ANYWHERE ELSE HERE, ONLY THE FEELING IS STRONGER AND INCOMPREHENSION DEEPER".

About M HKA / Mission Statement

The M HKA bridges the relationship between artistic questions and wider societal issues, between the international and the regional, artists and public, tradition and innovation, reflection and presentation. Central here is the museum's collection with its ongoing acquisitions, as well as related areas of management and research.
