Language plays a preeminent role in all the conceptual work of Yann Sérandour (b. 1974). Using publications, prints and books, he deconstructs the work of fellow artists and the art world itself. Sérandour thoughtfully wanders through others' work like a modern historian.

With Perfect Lovers (2008) Sérandour revisited a work by [Felix Gonzales-Torres, Untitled (Perfect Lovers)(1995)].(http://artforbreakfast.org/2013/01/05/felix-gonzales-torres-untitled-perfect-lovers/) He replaced a photographic reproduction with two working clocks. The two identical timepieces start by running at the same speed, but gradually a shift in time occurs. The time zones become asynchronous.

About M HKA / Mission Statement

The M HKA is a museum for contemporary art, film and visual culture in its widest sense. It is an open place of encounter for art, artists and the public. The M HKA aspires to play a leading role in Flanders and to extend its international profile by building upon Antwerp's avant-garde tradition. The M HKA bridges the relationship between artistic questions and wider societal issues, between the international and the regional, artists and public, tradition and innovation, reflection and presentation. Central here is the museum's collection with its ongoing acquisitions, as well as related areas of management and research.

About M HKA Ensembles
