Yo-Yo
2001
Painting, 240 x 360 cm.
Materials: acrylic, silver on wood

Yo-Yo is the result of collaboration between Carla Arocha and Narcisse Tordoir. The piece consists of three panels, originally based on newspaper tables giving the stock market quotes. From this, Arocha designed a sort of camouflage pattern that she interwove with the structure of a safe door.
Yo-Yo has a ground layer of fluorescent paint upon which white numbers are painted and where, subsequently, the camouflage pattern in silver is applied. The whole creates a purple glow that is only physically perceptible.
