De Civitate is an artist book representing projects that were, at that time, alreay realized in chosen places, along with projects for new constructions proposed for the cities between 1982 and 1987. These are also presented with the consideration that part of the drawings continously leave open what sooner or later can become places that can develop regarding the elements and the place for the work. The project in Antwerp, Scheldetuin (1987) is represented in this book with plans, texts and quotes from Maria Nordman herself.
