"For whomever might arrive at the river Schelde. Rows of trees are planted at extensions of a place where people could sit. A continuation of planting can produce a park/museum." (Maria Nordman, De Civitate, Musée Saint Pieree Art contemporain Lyon, 1987, p. 36.)

A small city garden, designed by Maria Nordman and executed in 1987 during the art project *Monumenta, Beeld in de stad*. It serves as a link between the city, the river, the museum and the people. The title literally translates into Scheldt Garden, refering to the Scheldt, the major river that runs trough Antwerp and feeds the harbour activity. Click here to view the location on a map.
