A preface introducing the reader to the moment when he/she will have finished the book. A postface calling back to memory the expectations of the reader as he/she opened the book. A face to face interview with Italian linguist-anthropologist Maurizio Gnerre about a ceremonial visiting dialogue among Jivaro Indians, during which visitor and host would stare at each other and speak at the same time.
Relation of the novel to the artist’s practice
The novel is part of an ongoing project by Mark Geffriaud based on hospitality and the performative use of language.
