Literary synopsis Collage novel, pasted together from exclusively found sentences collected from 250 different books (bibliography included). The original typography is maintained, by using scans of the original source pages. The novel tells associatively, suggestively and hilariously the story of a man’s desperate search for ‘the woman’s mystery’. Relation of the novel to the artist’s practice The novel is created in a method very much parallel to Bogaers’ (photographic) art work, in which he makes use of photographic images, both self-made and found. They are then brought together to form combinations generating new or altered meanings. In his literary work he follows the same method, only with sentences instead of images, and making use of exclusively found material. In both cases the work originates from his fascination for the possibilities of combining 'used' materials into something completely new, by means of association and suggestion.
