Literary synopsis
Las Correspondencias (The Correspondence) is an epistolary novel about friendship and money. Characters live and relate to each other in the city of Venice, in the present, but they seem to have lived already in other great books from the past. Las Correspondencias comes from a sentence by poet Ezra Pound: all letters speak about love and money. It creates a fiction based on names of different real citizens of Venice, anonymous and involuntary participants in these letters which, collected, form a „plot“ of sorts. Las Correspondencias can also be read as a route through the floating city, birth site of financial capitalism.
