M HKA'pen 2018
31 July 2018 - 05 August 2018

M HKA , Antwerp

M HKA'pen is a four-day writing course for adults. The first edition took place in the exhibition Sanguine/Bloedrood. During this workshop, writing and the fruitful dialoque between art and text are central. After a tour through the exhibition, the ink flows through writing exercises at specific artworks. Stories are written, poetry is created, essays take shape. With the preview in sights, shapes are found for text as art. With guidance from Carmien Michels for performance and Nathan Gotlib for typography / graphic design, the design continues to develop. On August 4, during Museum Night Antwerp, the works receive their deserverd attention from the many visitors who visit the M HKA.

This summer course was initiated and supervised by Fleur van Greuningen and Katrin Kamrau.

Participants: Angela Peters, Petri van Asseldonck, Wenying Gang, Annemie Ghekiere, Joke Schrauwen, Lea Theunissen

About M HKA / Mission Statement

The M HKA is a museum for contemporary art, film and visual culture in its widest sense. It is an open place of encounter for art, artists and the public. The M HKA aspires to play a leading role in Flanders and to extend its international profile by building upon Antwerp's avant-garde tradition. The M HKA bridges the relationship between artistic questions and wider societal issues, between the international and the regional, artists and public, tradition and innovation, reflection and presentation. Central here is the museum's collection with its ongoing acquisitions, as well as related areas of management and research.

About M HKA Ensembles
