In 2021 M HKA and the Tselinny Center of Contemporary Culture (Almaty, Kazakhstan) signed a memorandum on their cooperation concerning art from a wider regional Central Asian perspective and Kazakhstani position, with an international horizon and to their institutional cooperation. As part of this partnership, the Tselliny generously engages with our museum through annually acquiring works from the region, and donating them to M HKA. The selection of works aims to be a reflective moment, using the selection procedure organised by Tselinny committee. These works form part of the Shagylys collection, which in Kazakh means ‘reflection’.
