Nicholas Frank is an artist, curator and writer residing in Milwaukee. He ran the Hermetic Gallery from 1993-2001, co-founded the Milwaukee International in 2006, programmed INOVA (Institute of Visual Arts) from 2006-2011, was Curator-In-Residence at the Poor Farm 2012-2015, and currently runs The Open, a multi-program platform which houses the Nicholas Frank Public Library exhibition dialogue project. His curatorial projects and artworks have been exhibited widely, notably at Tate Modern, Kölnischer Kunstverein, Misako & Rosen, Swiss Institute, Gavin Brown’s Passerby, 47 Canal, Nathalie Karg Gallery, Institute of Contemporary Art (Philadelphia), Peregrine Program, Lump, Poor Farm, Lynden Sculpture Garden, Madison Museum of Contemporary Art and Milwaukee Art Museum. He currently teaches in the New Studio Practice program at Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, and is represented by Western Exhibitions and The Green Gallery. He will be an artist-in-residence at Artpace in Spring 2017.
