Died in Sint-Gillis (Belgium), born in Brussels (Belgium).
Jean-Jacques Gailliard comes from an artistic milieu, has wide-ranging interests, with esotericism among them. His work is not always consistent; it evolves according to its own logic towards what he calls ‘spiritual realism’. Compared to the discipline and seriousness of most of his contemporaries, Gailliard’s work shows a great degree of freedom and, not infrequently, humor as well.
