Hallgrímur Helgason is an Icelandic author, painter, translator, cartoonist and essayist. He has studied at the School of Visual Arts and Crafts in Reykjavík and the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He has held over 30 exhibitions in various countries. Beside his novels, Hallgrímur has written plays, poetry and countless articles for newspapers and magazines home and abroad, as well as being an active political analyst in the Icelandic media.
