Dan Gilsdorf

Dan Gilsdorf received a BFA in sculpture from the University of Colorado in 1997. His work explores the sculptural properties of materials and spaces using immaterial media such as light, sound, video, performance, and language. His text-based work ranges from single page compositions to larger format works on paper or in book form. Gilsdorf has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in such venues as the Portland Institute of Contemporary Art’s Time Based Arts Festival, the Angels Gate Cultural Center in Los Angeles, the East/West Project in Berlin, and the Parko Gallery in Tokyo. Gilsdorf has received grants from the Regional Arts & Culture Council and the NW Film Center in Portland Oregon. He lives and works in Portland, Oregon.
