Cornelia Parker

° 1956

Works in London (United Kingdom), born in Cheshire (United Kingdom).

In her oeuvre Cornelia Parker's main focus is on sculpture and installation art. Her work is typified by an ideological investigation into the value of objects in a globalized consumption-driven society. She often touches on objects' physical and material boundaries. By way of destructive actions (think of all that smashing and pulverizing that goes on in cartoons!) everyday and but also historical objects become transformed and are brought together anew in floating formations.
