“Kunstenaars werken tegenwoordig met conceptuele methodes, zoals dat dan heet, en gebruiken zogezegd geen voorwerpen. Maar je kunt niet geen voorwerpen gebruiken. Een tv-monitor is een voorwerp, een muur met een projectie op is de muur met een projectie op – en dus zeker een voorwerp. Ik zie nog steeds het gespannen canvas, en ik houd ervan om het gespannen canvas te zien. Ik zie het schilderij niet in perspectief; ik geloof niet dat het eruitziet zoals de werkelijkheid, dat zijn perspectief de natuur kopieert.
