Ensemble: IMAGINE UKRAINE - Exhibitions
Imagine Ukraine est un projet ambitieux qui aspire à tendre la main au-delà des urgences immédiates, si pressantes soient-elles, et ouvrir la réflexion plus étendue et la perspective à plus long terme que l’avenir requiert. Il est impératif que l’Europe se concentre davantage sur l’Ukraine, sur son caractère concret et sur sa complexité, ses possibilités et ses lignes de vol. Il faut que notre compréhension commune et réciproque aille crescendo.
Initié par le PinchukArtCentre et le M HKA, le projet Imagine Ukraine s’est élaboré avec la participation immédiate de Bozar et du Parlement européen. Il se déroule en partenariat avec le Parlement européen et a pu être réalisé grâce au soutien de la Communauté flamande.
Le lancement du projet s’effectue à travers trois expositions, organisées par Bart De Baere et Björn Geldhof à partir d’œuvres d’artistes ukrainiens appartenant à la collection de la Communauté flamande. Ces expositions se tiendront au M HKA, à Bozar et au Parlement européen. Il s’agit là des points de départ pour l’instauration d’un espace de réflexion sur le passé, le présent et l’avenir de l’Ukraine en tant que partie intégrante de l’Europe. L’exposition au Parlement européen a pour perspective celle de l’artiste en tant que témoin, celle à Bozar, la tension entre les grands récits et la réalité des vies humaines, et celle au M HKA, l’art en tant qu’esprit critique.
