In the decade of the 1960s, Wout Vercammen was closely involved with Happenings, and his visual language found its definitive, unmistakable form: the elevation of rudimentary 'data' (like his own Belgian identity) into readymades. At the end of the 1970s, Vercammen decides to follow his own path, apart from the usual circuit of the Antwerp art scene.
